Broken fiberglass axle rods are a thing of the past with the introduction of the new Blue Heron Strut suspension for 2003.    This remarkable innovation utilizes time-tested technology found in small general aviation aircraft suspension systems, and gives the Blue Heron a superior ability to handle ruts, holes, uneven ground, and extremely hard landings.

The scissor action of the Strut yields more than 6 inches of vertical travel, more than 3 times that found on most powered parachutes using fiberglass/shock setups.  The tension is also adjustable to allow personal levels of comfort customization for each pilot/passenger configuration.  Shock cord material provides strength and high-durability, with simple adjustments and easy replacement capability. All of this while adding only 2.5 pounds to the total weight of the aircraft!

The Blue Heron Strut  is standard equipment on the Marathon model, and is also available as a bolt-on kit for previous-generation aircraft.  The cost is $450.00 as a retrofit kit for all previous generation aircraft, and a $199.00 upgrade option for new Spirit purchases.   Contact us for more information.
